Photographer's Note
This is a common fruit of Bangladesh called “Amra”. Amra taste is sour imparted to it by citric acid which is present in large quantities and thus a good source of Vitamin C. The unripe fruits contain some proteolytic enzymes apart from several terpenes, aldehydes and esters.
Usually the mesocarp (flesh) of the unripe fruit is eaten although Amra pods are also used for a variety of preparations.
