This is a good concept. This particular version is not spectacular but the idea is worth another shot (or series of shots).

Perhaps a more spectacular sunset and the shots spaced (timed) equally so that the sun creates a diagonal line through the frames.

Seems to me to be a very good excuse to sit and watch a few sunsets. (Put your camera on a tripod or someplace to keep the position constant.)
