In the dim green light of a subterranean tea and smoke house near the city centre of Baku - in this tiny room are young people from all over eastern and western Europe, having fun, sharing games and views, politics and aspirations.....and of course tea, cake and the water pipe!

Hey Kev tienes realmente una muy buena toma, la atmosfera presntada es muy interesante, la luz que has logrado conseguir en la toma es estupenda
felicitaiones

Feels like they should be drinking absinthe with these green haze. Put me in mind of toulouse lautrec.

Very atmospheric Kev, the dappled green light is very unusual, and must have been extremely difficult to shot in. Perfect timing in catching the big cloud of smoke. They certainly look VERY relaxed ;-)

Best regards, Roberto

someone painted the world green, my favorite color? here I am, here I am...
I won't spend more time to deliver the people's verdict : it's a fav. Magic timing with that impressive smoke puff, this guy is the Old Faithful of smoking, was he pumping on a steroid chicha or what??
Secondly the light on the foreground guy's face, look at this light, half naturally lit, half lit with the green beam. Then there is the waiting girl with a hand language that says "I'm tired of waiting : will he say it tonight?".

I really don't mind about the grain (set to 3200 ISO?), i guess i know which situation you come from : there's at least three reasons for hitting that fav button.

.. oh yes, and I forgot to add, what a different take on the other Azerbaidjan pics in TE!

Hi Kevin,
What have you done in Baku? That's a strange place to choose for your vacations!
Excellent colors and mood on this picture. Great timing with the the smoke "exhalation".
Cheers
Marc

The noise doesn't look bad. On the contrary, it adds aatmosphere to the shot. And the green tint is very fitting.
Regards,
Fusun

what reasons brought you there, kev?...i envy you...
man, i fully agree with luko, this take is way off from everything we may find about azerbaijan here on te...
knowing you - i can bet that you had your smoke, too...:-))
fully deserves that "fav" button being clicked...

Hi Kev,

The guy to the left in the foreground is not looking in a way I'd expect Azerbaijans to look. Then again, I've never been there, so how would I know... I do really like the atmosphere you captured here. Cramped, smokey, but cosy at the same time.
Nice. And waterpipes with dried fruit tobacco are so nice.

Greetings,
Dennis

Definitively - one of the best photos posted recently on TE...
A stunner from corner to corner to corner...

Great scene and even greater capture...

Flawless presentation...

Is there any need to go on and on...

If the stuff is good - the stuff is good... That's it !

(:-)))))

Stay cool, bro

g.

Oh gosh! I would be really happy to have this photo in my portfolio, even though I am not that a fan of green photographs! :)
The timing is just perfect with this guy expelling the smoke from his mouth. Puff! is the right word! ;) And I also like how the others seem to be lost in their own world...
Gee! I wonder what you were doing there! They look like really young people. Did you disguise yourself? :))) Look, to be a grandfather, you must be a little older than them, no?
I just love this photo! A great, great job Kev!
Claire

This is a great photo Kev. No doubt about it. That foreground guy's expression completely grabbed me into the scene. And then the magic smoke... Absolutely beautiful. In green...

Beautiful. Though I think the word isn't quite adequate. The beauty of photo and great atmosphere of the scene. One have to think of one's youth - disputing all night long, hearing to the poems singed... and smoking of course... water pipes ? why not ?
Greetings T.

Fantastic "daily life" shot, Kev, the green color is so atmospheric here! I see several TE members have been to Baku lately...

Cheers
A.

Hi Kev,
That's a well psychedelic photo! All these people stuffed in the corner of a room, looking a bit "tired" and the smoke flowing towards the green light??? Strange atmosphere and, I guess, a memorable experience for you.
