Photographer's Note

Travel on the Silk Road:
History as left curious traces. The 800 km railway track that used to long the border of the former Soviet Union from Gyumri in Armenia through Naxcivan in Azerbaijan to Baku was to a large part out of service when we visited, cut off in several places by new state borders. A timid new beginning was this train that ran 40 km once a day from Naxcevan to Jolfa in Iran. It linked the Azeri exclave to Iran. The picture is taken at the border in the Aras canyon.
The slide had to be scanned, the pic sharpened and resized for TE. Enjoy!
