Photographer’s Note

Je rentre de quelques jours de travail en Arménie.
Terre de contrastes à l'histoire impressionnante.
Terre mal connue aussi aux paysages à couper le souffle.
Nous sommes ici sur les bords du lac Sevan, le plus grand lac de montagne après le lac Titicaca.
Derrière le lac, l'Azerbaidjan et les montagnes du Caucase.

I return from few workdays in Arménia.
Land of contrasts with an impressive history.
Land badly known also with landscapes to cut the breath.
We are here on the edges of the lake Sevan, the biggest lake of mountain after the lake Titicaca. Behind the lake is Azerbaidjan and mountains of the Caucasus.

une image pleine de douceur, sans doute grâce à la lumière de ce ciel d'orage. Superbe éclairage aussi sur la rangée d'arbres, peut-être des bouleaux, en bord de lac

bonjour bertrand,
c'est pas souvent qu'on a l'occasion de voir des photos d'Arménie, j'aime bien la douceur de la lumiere sur le premier plan et le ciel plombé et orageux qui sert de toile de fond.

Great landscape picture, Bertrand. There is a lot 'happening' in it (the rain in the distance, the magnificent positioning of the trees...), yet the overall impression is one of serenity. Great, gentle colours too!

Hello Bertrand,
Belle composition avec ce lac et les montagne en arrière plan. J'aurais juste une remarque, pour moi les arbre du premier plan devraient être plus sombres pour donner plus d'importance au fond de l'image.

Première image d'Arménie.
L'éclairage et le paysage sont différents de tes précédentes photos, mais toujours les mêmes qualités de cadrage et d'éclairage. Il se dégage de cette image, malgré l'orage, un grand calme.

Superbe paysage, et tu as réussi malgré le ciel gris à en faire une superbe photo, pas simple ! Mais ici les trainées de la pluie qui tombent sur les montagnes du Caucase sont vraiment saisissantes de beauté !

Pas ton image la plus impressionante mais tu nous montres deux pays en une image et y'a de la lumiere sur le premier plan, alors... Tu n'as pas traverse le lac pour ajouter l'Azerbaidjan ?

Salut Bertrand,
Absolument magnifique! Superbe lumière qui permet aux arbres de se découper comme de la dentelle sur le lac.
L'arrière plan où l'on voit les différentes averses est magnifique aussi.
Le moins que l'on puisse dire 'est que c'est sauvage! Pas une seule âme ou la moindre habitation à l'horizon.

J'aime beaucoup ce coté double dans l'image. D'une part, l'avant plan qui semble être éclairé et d'autre part, l'arrière plan plutôt sombre dans lequel on peut voir la pluie qui tombe. Le titre de la photo est très bien trouvé.

Strange light you got here, not hard, not soft, but still it has good impact in the picture and in the final presentation. And although those trees in front on the left good nice, it's of course the weather what is dominating the landscape. The rain is falling down in heavy proportions and put a veil over the mountain ranges in the background......very good..!!!

Bonjour, Bertrand. Un ciel splendide où l'on peut voir la pluie qui s'abat sur la rive opposée du lac. Le contraste avec le vert de l'eau est très réussi et j'aime beaucoup les arbres sur la rive qui se détachent bien sur l'eau et apportent un bel équilibre dans la composition.

Good proportion of colours and arrangement. Once youve tried that the visual appeal is created automatically..controlling the exposure correctly is the key to nature shots and youve done it well here..

This one is it high altitude..have seen the exact kind of trees above 15000ft.

Such a great moment of capture. It is such a fine encounter to see this kind of sky when you have a camera in hand. You did a good job without a tripod for this condition at 1/250s that still shows the pull of the heavy rain clouds.

Superb balanced composition. Like the 7 trees standing parallel & all slightly bent towards the rain falling in the BG over the Caucasus mountains. A troubled land at one point of time in not so distant past, I saw a film called Ararat about the problems below the surface of the lovely country. Fine shot!
