Photographer’s Note

Parce que la terre est lourde et humide.
Parce qu'on y enterre les morts sans nourrir les vivants.
Parce que le froid de l'hivers fait geler les ruisseaux.
Parce que la terre limite nos pas,
et réduit nos espoirs.

L'enfant avait choisi de quitter le sol et de marcher dans le ciel.

Because the ground is heavy and wet.
Because one buries deaths without nourishing the alive ones.
Because cold of winters makes freeze the brooks.
Because the ground limit our steps,
and reduces our hopes.

The child had chosen to leave the ground and to walk in the sky.

I recently saw the movie "Man on the Wire". Your photo reminded me of it. Anyway, great unique and creative shot. It works well as a sillouhette. The sky where it is slightly parting looks beautiful too.

Tout est dit dans le titre! Très bon POV (on a l'impression que tu es toi aussi dans les nuages pour photographier l'enfant fildeferiste) et un choix audacieux de contrejour mais qui paye!

Hi Bertrand,
This photo really has a special feeling about it. The light shining through the clouds is splendid and adds to the mood of the shot. I like that the child is in sihouette as he walks it seems far far above the earth. It almost seems like something out of a story book.

de ce point de vue,l'enfant semble marcher encore plus haut que les montagnes,et la position de la perche donne une extraordinaire profondeur!Le ciel est merveilleux!

the photo isn't BW but it surely looks that way. The girl is nicely silhouetted for you.
there is also a greatly positioned blue sky above her head.

Bien belle cette ombre chinoise se découpant sur un ciel des plus somptueux - ici c'est la perche qui fait tout, elle transperce la photo et nous laisse à penser qu'elle transperce aussi ce funambule - superbe-
oui tout va bien mon vieux Bertrand, et toi ? j'ai vu que tu avais eu des soucis pour une belle arménienne. en ce moment je me fais rare sur TE, il faut dire qu'il faut une patience d'ange pour ouvrir une photo, voire même pour enregristrer une critique...ordi ou TE, il y a surement une connerie quelque part...
