Pigeons and mosaic
 |

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This picture was taken in May, 1973, but could probably have been taken today. It shows a small part of the Hazrat Ali mosque in Mazar-i-Sharif in northern Afghanistan, where not much has changed during the many years of war. The mosque still stands, and the white pigeons are still there. Yesterday I showed a much larger part of the mosque.
Scanned from a Kodachrome slide. |

Hej Gert,
I guess this answers my question yesterday wether this building is still standing. These details show definitely the beauty of the bricklaying or mosaique. Also a very fine composition and very good colours.
