Photographer’s Note

This was taken from the window of my truck as we were delivering supplies for a group of isolated Afghan National Police. We had stopped in Gereshk to change a puncture, and within minutes had attracted a group of inquisitive children, who promptly relieved us of our chocolate! The father of one of them had a shop and bought us out excellent nan breads for our journey. It was a very warm moment for us seeing people going about their business totally unfazed by the war going on around them, and was also a wonderful way of meeting the local population.
