[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This Pashtun child is playing in the endless dirt of Afghanistan. Here, the sex of young children is easily identifiable by their clothing: Boys wear earthy tones and girls wear bright, attractive colors. Once girls hit a certain age (around 8 or 9), the colors are less flambouyant and shawls are used to cover their faces to prevent men from lusting after them as they grow into their teen years.

Very good picture, between tradition and modernity. The composition is smart, may be a small flash fill-in would have been usefull to light the children's face.
