Photographer’s Note

Took this pic while surveying a village south of Kandahar City.

With the curves of the crumbling mud houses dominating the landscape coupled with the the absense of people - escaping the mid-day desert sun - it was a bit erie.

As most of the village wells had run dry, within a couple of weeks we were active digging some fresh wells using local labour.

Hot and dry.
Interesting photo here with the mountain in background, the kid walking around, the man doing their labours, I'll always be amazed at these houses.
And it hit me how the man in black looks like an assassin, ready to take his target. :)
