Photographer’s Note
This young boy heads home after a long day in the fields. He rides on top of a donkey laden with his harvest of grasses.
This scene is on the road from Chist-e-Sharif to Obey. It was taken from the window of a moving minibus as we drove up a slight incline towards the setting sun. I had about five seconds to lean out of the window, compose and shoot.
This is my 200th post since joining TE just over a year ago. Thanks to all who have commented on my pictures over this time. This is my first post from Afghanistan, which is my 32nd country on this site. There are still plenty more to come...

Hi Jonathan, this picture is very interesting. The white balance looks very well and the scene is perfect. I like the silhoutte and the ilumination location at the right side. Congratulations!

Hi Jonathan,
VEry nice silhouetes, and you caught very well the boy in the donkey. Also, the tones on the background sky are really beautiful.

Hi Jonathan,
congratulations for your 200th post. And it's a great one taken out of a moving minbus. Usually pictures of people in opposite light are not the best. But this one emphasizes the mood of late evening and gives an interesting silhouette.
Kind regards,
Roland alias ahmet54

Hi Jonathan, Congratulations to you 200th posting. Through your photos, I have been kept following you to many countries in the world. You have covered so many countries and you have brought back many wonderful photos. Keep it up and I am looking forward to see more.
This is a very well composed and well taken picture. The silhouette view of the foreground image well framed the beautiful scenery at dusk. I like the mood, the contrast and the DoF. Well done.

Hi Jonathan
Congrats on the double century! Great composition - the shapes here in these silhouettes really tell a story of daily activity. I like the colours of the landscape too which really give a sense of recession into the distance.

Congratulations on 200! The list of countries you have visited is truly impressive, and makes me jealous! The quality of photos from your trips is equally impressive, and I always enjoy seeing them. You are one of the people on TE who best exemplfies the site's credo - learning about the world through photography. I personally have learned a lot from your posts and I hope I get to see a lot more. Keep them coming!

Salut Jonathan, j'aime bien cette photo qui nous montre la vie quotidienne de gens dont on nous a parlé surtout pendant la guerre. C'est une image de vie paisible très bien construite.
