Photographer’s Note
From too many shots made from the air in Afghanistan this one appears to be the best in terms of colours. Made quickly, without preparation, just to catch that interesting mountain, during the landing manoeuvre near the Herat airport.

It does have a Matterhorn look. My goodness that looks dusty- I like the red color agianst the blue sky. Good work!

I like this view from the sky on mountains and empty land below. Contrast of colours is amazing and compo of the shot is well cut by the wing.
