[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Here's a reminder to all of you who have spent a minor fortune on food and gifts for Christmas, that there are lots of people out there who are less fortunate. This is a man I met in Kunduz town in northern Afghanistan in May 1973. He made a living as a porter in the market area. Judging by his clothes his incomes weren't great.
Scanned from a Kodachrome slide.

Hello Gert,
Great portrait. Even more impressive to see that the Kodachrome held his typical warm colours after so many years. The detail and sharpness is very good, you did a great job on scanning here. And although the man was probably poor, he shows some digity and pride in his face which i very much like to see.
Really good work her, a very good portrait.
Have a nice Christmas, Henk

Hej Gert,

Very good portrait! A portrait that pushes effectively to the réfexion... full of melancholy.
What to say? Very difficult! Thanks Gert for this very good shot! Admiration! alain

Ciao Gert,
among the whole beautiful photos of your gallery, today I have chosen this, because this man's expression, despite the poverty of his suits, it's very dignified. They agree with your good notes. In this period of gifts and dainty foods, there is people that don't have to eat, and we don't often remember us that the poor men exist also. Beautiful job.
Regards
Paolo.
