[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
One of the streets along the Kabul river in Kabul city. A sunny day in early May 1973, snow still covering the mountains surrounding the city. The weather is nice and not too hot and people are unhurriedly moving around. It is an enjoyable day, and luckily nobody knows what the future will bring to Afghanistan.
This is scanned from a Kodachrome slide.

Hello Gert! Amazing place. Wonderful perspective. Beautiful background. Good composition. Well done!

A fascinating photo, Gert. So much history, not much of it pleasant, has passed since you took this one. In those days one could still travel across this country en route to Europe, across Iran and Iraq also. I like the curving road, the mountain backdrop and the unhurried daily life we see here. Good scanning job.
Regards,
Andrew

Hej Gert,
An excellent composition with the road curving round the picture. As in your photos from Yemen, there seem to be no women around. Was that so? The sky looks a bit grainy
but otherwise the scan is very good.
Hälsningar
Gunnar

Hej Gert,
Snyggt med den där gamla Mercan till höger. En känsla av gångna tider i denna bild. Fint perspektiv och fin komposition.
Hälsningar
Mikael

Hi Gert,
the scan is good, and with the context, the note makes the picture even more worthwhile. It's somehow strange how the picture and the note both confront past and 'future', modernity and tradition.
