Photographer’s Note
This man sits in a doorway, contemplating the world. He plays with the beads in his left hand. Sitting, watching and waiting seems to be a popular past-time in Afghanistan. My previous two posts are also on the same theme.

A nice portrait of the old man, Jonathan. I like a lot his pose, and his relaxed, yet proud glance. His jacket seems to be an interesting blend of what used to be multiple pieces (I may be wrong). The red beads in his left hand are a nice detail, and the tight framing works fine on this one.

Hi Jonathan. wonderful portrait and excellent light. He is very nicely framed in the door and you had good timing as his expression is great... almost a stoic look. well done.

Afghanistan looks like a photographer's paradise - or maybe it's just your great photos that make it seem that way! This is a very well composed portrait, and the detail and colour is marvelous. I like how you showed the clothing, which is very interesting by itself. Great shot!

Hi Jonathan, A nice close up portrait to show this man's proud expression. Good use of sunlight angle to show the details of his phase and the styles of his dress up. A very well taken picture with nice contrast and sharpness. Well done.

I've always been fascinated with Afghanistan and I don't know when or how I'll be able to go there, but I discovered your photos today as one of this series was on TE's 1'st page, and intend to see more next week, when I'll have more time...
The proud expression of this ak sakal man is great, TFS,
Cath.
