Here is one of the attractive natural lake or dam of Bamyan called Band-e- Amir. In Dari (Persian) Band means Dam and Amir (Arabic) means Prince or Knight etc.
The Local people is calling this Band-e-Amir, because they belive that Imama Ali (Fourth Khalif of Sunni & Other Fiqh of Muslims & First Imam of Shia Fiqh also famous with name Amir ul Momineen) came here and asked the water to stop. And you can see that the water is stopped a little bit higher than the barrier.
