| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Here is another photo from Deception Island, just off the Antarctic Peninsula. The photo turned B&W naturally because it is located on a very active volcano. The latest eruption of this volcano was on 1991-1992. I guess that’s what gave this unusual name to this island.
Probably because of the weather (March in Antarctica can be very cold!), my reflex camera broke down, so I had to use cheap point and shoot camera instead.
I’m aware of some technical imperfections, but despite it, I find it a very TE photo.
I’ll appreciate to get any kind of feedback from you.

Hello Alon,
This one seems like it is missing something.
The colour or lack thereof is interestign, but from a composition point of view the object did not come out very interesting. I mean maybe trying to look for another POV including more of a background, however I understand that conditions were not optimal.
Regards
Daniel

I dont think its missing anything...theres nothing in antarctica to miss:) I like the strong contrasta a lot, its sort of graphic...and yeah, fits superbly in TE. Ive never seen a shot from antarctica here before. Curious though that your reflex cam broke down but a p&s didnt. Id expect the opposite.
The image seems VERY impactful to me ... stark, barren, cold ... all expressed in a simple, elegant picture. I'd say a job VERY well done!
Very much in the TE spirit this photo shows many of us a part of the world we will never visit. I like the starkness of the image with the slight blue cast.

Bonjour Alon
Alors ça ! des images de l'antartique, c'est vraiment un scoop. A quand des images sur la lune ou sur mars !
Bravo pour ce voyage et merci pour ce témoignage unique.
C'est passionnant.
