Photographer's Note

I shot that penguin while it was looking around as a leopard seal was waiting for it in the water. Unfortunately I could not get that leopard seal on the same picture. It was an incredible moment. I will never forget it, all the days I spend over there either. That cruise along the antarctica penesula was the most memorable trip I've ever done, full of magic moments with all that wilderness around. It is quite an expansive trip but it is definetely worth it!

I'm green with envy, and not ashamed to admit it. the small silhouette of the bird against the blue wall of the ice works perfectly to convey the sense of unforgiving nature. your timing was perfect, the penguin is even looking in the right direction, too good to be true.

the photo could use some sharpening, but it might be due to extremely small size of the file, less than 46Kb, while TE allows uploads of up to 300Kb, so the loss of quality is inevitable. still, big green smiley from me, the place, composition and colours are too great to keep thinking about the technical aspects.
