[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
One of the coldest days on my 15 months long stay on Polish Antarctic Station "H.Arctowski".

This day it was -22 °C it was windy: 20 knots, so with wind chill factor it was -40 °C (-39 °F ). This weather was for almost two weeks so our bay started to freeze. It was too cold and too windy to go anywhere, I just went to main building for a lunch (because it was in winter time it was just after sunrise) and saw this mist coming from the north. It was warm air coming to us from Drak'e Passage, after that it was two days of strong wind - almost hurricane (up to 120 knots!).

With Antarctic greetings - Piotr Angiel

First of all what an amazing photograph. It really is a beautiful place to be. For 15 months though it must be hard to live in such a place. But really not many people get to see this sort of beauty so your lucky.

I like the blues in the ice really makes this look pristine and clean. The impending fog looks very nice in the background and adds to the atmosphere.

Well Done
Andrew

Hello Piotr!
An interesting shot of a strange landscape in blue.
Greetings from Austria!

Hi Piotr!

Respect, for getting your nose frozen and still capturing such amazing shots! :)
Nice ice blocks 'n structures. It's a place I'd like to see for myself.

Pozdrawiam,

Natalia

Hi Piotr,

phantastic shot in high quality, congratulations also for your other photographs ! Sometimes we have these conditions -25/20knots in our mountains when skiing or snowboarding. But we have nice huts with hot wine and "Jagatee" ("hunters tea") to warm up.
Cheers from Austria Chris

The POV is great. The colors and the sharpness are very good.
Congratulations!!!
Kostas.

Hi Piotr
This looks so cold I can just imagine the temperatures you talk about. I think I prefer staying where it's warm and watching penguin films.
You framed the block of ice really well and the way the wind has whipped up the snow is impressive. Nice blue tones of the ice too.
Regards
Nikki

i prefer this one to the other one i just commented on! the light and colors are so much more powerful and pleasing to the eyes! The mist coming from the right upper part of the frame is spectacular! Maybe as you mentionned, the sunrise light is the best time for those photographic moments!?

Cheers and TFS once again. those photos and geographical areas are so rarely seen! (for good I think, given the human tendancy to waste the earth!)

C'est absolument MAGNIFIQUE.

Bonjour Piotr,

Bonne exposition, composition et contraste.
Une belle vue des grands espaces.

Hello Piotr,
Yep - makes me feel cold just looking at this wonderful shot! I experienced -33C in Canada a few years back - but I was still out photographing, too! I'm wondering what scanner you might have used to get this result?

Cheers,
Jeff

Twoje zdjecie swietnie oddaje ducha Antarktydy - swiata sniegu i lodu. Piekne naturalne kolory i dobra kompozycja.
