Photographer's Note
El espacio de mar existente entre Sudamérica y la Antártida es llamado “El paso Drake”, en honor al mítico pirata ingles Sir Francis Drake, el primero en lograr cruzar este estrecho, considerado el mar más tormentoso del planeta.
Durante las expediciones que realizamos a la Antártida, es inevitable enfrentarse al furioso mar de Drake. La travesía dura 3 días, navegando contra olas de mas de 6 m de altura y vientos d 100 km por hora.
La embarcación de la fotografía, es el buque científico peruano “Humboldt”.

Otra foto muy buena, lo que mas me gusta es el contraste entre el buque rojo y los colores del mar. Si hubiera estado yo abordo estaria tan mareado que no creo que podria sacar fotos.
Me ha echo gracia que llames a Drake un pirata....aqui en Inglaterra es considerado un heroe, lo que pasa es que le fastidia a la gente espanyola que le robara el oro, que en torno los espanyoles robaban a la gente de sudamerica.

Esta es una excelente fotografia.
Tiene una tremenda fuerza, con impresionante contraste de colores. Muy bien captada, me gusta mucho el color del mar con un fuerte azul y el blanco de la espuma en contraste con el rojo del barco.

This is a beautiful photograph catching the sea breaking at just the right time. Gives a sense of motion and the power of the water. We took a trip in 2001 and I have a similar photograph but yours is much better.

We just feel like beeing on the boat and looking at that huge wave! My stomach can almost feel it too!!! ;-)
One point... There is a bit too much noise, maybe because of the resizing of the picture. Look at my Workshop!
