Elephant Seals at Hannah Point Photo

Photographer’s Note

A large group of Elephant Seals at Hannah Point, just off the Antarctic peninsula. They leave the water at this time of year for a few weeks while they moult, and form large groups ashore.

The photo was taken around 4 am (the antarctic daylight starts early)and needed some small adjustments with levels, and a touch of sharpening.

Hi Les,
The composition - the different shapes and colours of the seals, plus the added bonus of the penguins is very pleasing. But for some reason your image is not sharp and clear enough. Either the focus is a little off or you are not using your camera at its maximum resolution, or this is a highly cropped image.

Bonjour Les,
amoureux des photos animales, je me suis arrêté sur celle-ci, vraiment originale et qui nous propose une scène que nous avons rarement l'habitude de voir.
Pingouins et éléphants de mer ont l'air de faire bon ménage.
Bien vu et capturé.
