Under Antarctic rainbow Photo

Photographer’s Note

It was just a moment. The weather is changing so fast in South Shetland Island. That day it was nice and sunny, in one moment storm came. I saw this rainbow and a group of penguin near my home (Polish Antarctic Station "Arctowski") I took camera with me and ran there. The rainbow was visible maybe for 5 minutes long.

I was for 15 months on Antarctica and all time long I was trying to make interesting and not standard picture of penguins. This shot (with Adelie penguin) is one of few pictures I'm very happy of the result.

Fascynujące zajęcie - czytałem Twoje intro. Galeria także wspaniała, przepiękne są te surowe krajobrazy czy choćby scenki takie jak tak. Wspaniałe zdjęcie. Tęcza nawet niekonieczna ale skoro była świetnie wkomponowałeś ją w obraz.

Excellent decisive moment shot! The penguin is perfectly posed, it looks like the next penguin supermodel. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail. The rainbow is a great finishing touch for the shot.

superb photo, I agree that this is a decisive moment - the rainbow, the light, the pose of the bird - everything has come together for a winner shot. but it would still be nothing without you choosing the composition and the low point of view that works perfectly to place the rainbow as a frame for the penguin. excellent work, my compliments.

I really like how the penguin pop again the dark sky with the rainbow as backdrop. This photo is well timed and well framed.
