Hello Jean-Pierre,

C'est un décor et une couleur de pierre qui surprend toujours. J'aime bien cette aspect "début des temps" qui resort de ta photographie. J'aime beaucoup cette vue qui semble prise depuis le centre de ce fleuve et qui donne toute l'importance à cette montagne.

un pays peu mis en images sur TE au raeard du fabuleux potentiel qu'il semble posseder. merci de nous faire decouvrir ce superbe coin qui n'a rien à envier à son grand cousin américain, la végétation etant une valeur ajoutée non des moindres pour l'amateur d'images que tu es. La dolomie rouge est une aubaine et se conjugue idealement à ce ciel chargé. bel angle.

So, the photo was taken from the middle of the dam lake, correct? The rock's colours are very typical of Africa and always make a great combination with the vegetation around, even if it is much dryer than in here. The sky is a good example of what you say about the rain in the region. It really looks like a very impressive area. Thanks for the excellent photo.

Looks like we are in Arizona.
Man what a great and fantastic landscape. I had never really plans to go there, but the last year i chanced my mind and seeing such pictures like yours i am getting more convinced that i must leave an option open for South Africa. See how that light is shining on those rocks, but also the in the middle on those greens which is much brighter than the greens on the left...fantastic. A pure landscape, made by a person who knows what he is doing...great work..!!!

Les conditions orageuses ca peut pourrir une journee, mais quand un rayon de soleil peut percer les nuages et eclairer le sujet comme on peut le voir sur cette photo, le rendu en devient tout de suite spectaculaire, chouette paysage ca rappelle un peu l'Australie.

Quel spectacle! On pourrait croire qu'il s'agit d'un parc national américain... La lumière est très belle et le ciel menaçant donne un contraste intéressant.

Bonjour jean-Pierre,

Quelle région attachante et sauvage! Il y a beaucoup de vert, signe qu'il doit pleuvoir quand même assez souvent. les gros nuages sont là pour nous le rappeler! J'ai l'impression que le D300 au niveau des images est vraiment le pendant du D3! Même si l'appareil a l'air un peu moins pro, les résultats sont très proches au niveau de la qualité de l'image, du moins en sensibilité normale!

Great clouds JP, reminds me of southwestern USA, the red cliffs go well with the greens and blues, there is a very small chance I may go there again this year, the first time I went to Blyde the weather was a dull gray overcast.

un pays comme dit alain peu posté sur TE, heureusement le JiPé national est la, un paysage verdoyant avec des roches rouges et ce large fleuve, superbe, un ciel menacant qui ne t'aide pas mais tu as bien travaillé les couleurs, j'espére que tu as eu du beau temps durant ton séjour

Yeah what can I say, spectacular in all senesces , its like a good roast with a lot of parsley on it. a great sky and a river that leads us trough the image ( the bird do have any kind of Idea what bird it is ?)

nice recollections to see this shot. I have been to the largest canyon and to the third largest canyons so far. Quite different both in presentation. The special element here is the green nature's carpet to provide the lovely contrast between the pink/redish stone and the full saturated green. I saw it from the top on my way to Kruger Park. The view from the bottom along the water seems to be even better.
