Photographer's Note
Today I decided to post another Sossusvlei landscape, this one has a softer feel due to the clouds. It was taken last year when Namibia enjoyed an unusually wet season.

Hi Rosemary
a beautifully layered effect in this gorgeous landscape composition. Love the colours and textures and the wonderful sweeping lines of the distant shore. All under a compelling sky. Glorious!

Bonjour Rosemary,

Hello Rosemary,
A very picturesque place that strongly seems offering so many photographic possibilities. The most distinctive feature of this place is the multitude of interesting layers as you've already noted in the title. I very much liked the light management, well saturated strong color tones and the vast sky full of beautiful clouds. Thanks and best wishes,
Suleyman

Hello Rosemary,
Well, I've checked and checked this one carefully against the edges of my screen and no nit-pickers can ever accuse you of a squint horizon with this one!
As I think I have said before about similar pictures (and I don't mean it in a derogatory sense in any way), this reminds me of those "landscape" pictures which you sometimes see and which are made up between two sheets of glass using multiple layers of different coloured sands.
It is an intriguing image of simple composition but with some stunning colours and areas of light and shade. The icing on the cake is the beautiful reflection of the sky and distant hills/dunes in the water. The sky too looks more troubled in this shot than in most of your pictures of this region.
As always, techically superb - I'm getting fed up of constantly commenting positively on sharpness, exposure and all that! It's pointless with your pictures - my comments in those regards are always the same!
Beautiful!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hi dear Rosemary
Yes your title says it all. The differing layers and wide variety of textures are so attractive. As are the all the varying earth colours. And the depth of field is so good, allowing us to see all the amazing textures of the mountains beyond. The clouds of course are the cherry on the cake and superbly contrast with the rest of the earthier tones in the mid and foreground. Lovely shot.
Warm regards and a beautiful weekend to you

Hello Rosemary, great landscape with lovely composition and colours!
Amazing warm tones and layered effect of land (reminds me of choccolate cake with cream :) ) , while the cold tones of sky & clouds makes a pleasant contrast.
Warm regards & ciao

Hi Rose
Nice landscape with dramatic sky
Please try to put the horizon line on the third of the frame (uo or down) to give priority to the sky or the foreground.
Thanks for sharing
Best regards

Hello Rosemary
I really like this image that attracts the 'eye for the beautiful layering of colors that lead from the base toward the blue sky. Simple but very effective as an optical shutter. beautiful colors and sharp detail and definition of each pixel. Great job, congratulations.
The best regard's, greetings ... Marino
