Photographer's Note

Although autumn season officially began more than two months ago, summer weather still prevails in South Africa, offering perfect conditions for hiking and photography.

That's what we did over the long weekend in Wathaba, a wilderness area in the Skurweberg Mountains, boasting magnificent waterfalls, fauna and flora like wild flowers, mushrooms and lichens.

L'effet de filé sur l'eau est impeccable et la cadrage vertical bien adapté. Comme toujours, tu nous montres ta parfaite maitrise photographique dans cette excellente photo.

Well done for carrying a tripod as you have made very good use of it here. The silky water and the rocky landscape are a lovely combination. Your POV and f18 aperture were well chosen. Excellent image.

Salut Andre ,
Je ne suis pas toujours fan des effets "pause longue" , et pas parce que je ne sais pas faire ;) Mais quand c'est bien réalisé , c'est très beau . Notamment ici , avec un aspect très naturel pour la cascade du deuxième plan , et de jolies textures au premier .
LA composition est excellenteet équilibrée , ce qui n'est pas si évident dans ce ganre d'endroit (on hésite souvent sur la proportion à donner au ciel , à la végétation...)

Salut André,

C'est vraie que les saisons sont en décalage entre les 2 hémisphère. Ca m'a fat bizarre de lire ta note alors que par ici, c'est le retour des beaux jours.
22 sec en plein jour, tu as dû le mettre à fond le filtre gris neutre variable. On vient de m'en préter un pour faire des essais.
J'aime bien le cadrage ici qui construit une diagonale entre le premier plan et la cascade. Par contre, l'arbre sur la falaise ensoleillé est peut etre un peu envahissant?
Tout ça me donne envi de revenir en Afrique Australe, mais ce ne sera pas pour cette année.

Hello André,

You have certainly exploited your very strong ND filter to the utmost here with this very long exposure shot taken in bright daylight. And it has worked beautifully.

A lovely strong diagonal composition, the water starting at the top and exiting at bottom left, the falls placed in just the right position in the frame and the rockface and trees on the left balancing the falls perfectly.

Perfect exposure, lovely colours and stunning detail and sharpness.

Superbe image ! Le cadrage est excellent, le format vertical donne de la hauteur à cette belle cascade. L'exposition est parfaitement gérée, tu as su éviter des zones sombres dans l'image. J'aime beaucoup l'effet de filé sur l'eau avec les rochers bien nets, ça donne une impression de mouvement très réussi.
