Medina, a photo from Marrakech, South

Photographer's Note

Though a rather touristic place, there are spots in the Medina of Marrakech, far from the Jemaa el Fna, northeast of the Souks where you only see locals, like here with the tower of the Ben Youssef Mosque in tghe background.

The perspective created by the buildings and the tower is worth a praise, but the overwhelming tower is so out-of focus, it was difficult for my eyes to concentrate.

It is surprising to have it blurred for an on spot choice of f/20?

Het moet aardig overkomen als tourist hier tussen de lokale bevolking foto's maken, moet voor deze mensen raar overkomen.
Uw foto laat echt zien de dagelijkse bezigheden en de gebouwen duidelijk Arabisch.
Zeer goede samenstelling met originele kleuren, bedankt.

Bonjour Gerrit,

Le regard suit naturellement cette petite rue dans l'image, serre la mais aux gens en passant et se dirige vers cette belle tour qui se dresse en arrière plan.Je ne me souviens pas d'autant de femmes voilées il y a une dizaine d'années.

The scene is typical of daily life. It's insanely gay, but it's interesting. I love the composition which effectively describes the architecture. Light and color are excellent. Bravo.

A good daily life scene from Marrakech. Perhaps a little soft or maybe some camera shake? The alley provides excellent lead in lines & linear perspective, and the people animate the scene & add context. The minaret makes a good central focal point. Nice graphism & framing. Tfs!

What a wonderful street scene, with the people going about their daily business and dressed in their traditional costume. The BG is missing a little bit of sharpness on my monitor, but this is a small thing. Great natural shot, congratulations.
