Terrific sky! I like the contrast between the red dunes and the threatening dark sky. An amazing view of Namibian desert!

Really impressive atmosphere. The dark clouds announce the end of the world and the Earth is just a desert. Biblical image. Great colors and dof.

The end of the world...
Happy to know that it is a natural one...because those words remind me another desert storm done by human being !
Great shot !

jolie image et quelles couleurs!!! on se demande comment cet ocre peut ressortir si lumineux en l'absence du soleil?! et ces nuages qui vont tomber du ciel... on dirait presque une peinture...

That's really a storm sky!!
Impressive contrast of colors, textures and forms making the hole composition one of great power.
Well done

Certainly a powerful image and I like the way the storm clouds have been given such prominence. I suspect either a strong coloured filter was used or more likely some manipulation in Photoshop or similar. Apologies if I'm wrong but the colours really do look unnatural and detract from a great picture.

I think it's quite unusual to see such a dramatic sky in the Namib ! The colors are incredible, well done.

Not only colours, but also the details, especially in the sky are splendid, I would call it the nature's own painting.
I feel that the proportion of sky to the ground is well balanced, image is full of the feeling that the storm is indeed imminent.
Well done.

Clouds creasing and folding on them selves build a nice deep perspective and convey a terrific motion feeling.
Contrast between the greys in the sky and the ocher of the land is impressive.
I like the light glowing thru the folds in the clouds.

Beautiful shot Mr. Martel. Looks more like you were in Middle Earth, approaching Sauron Tower instead of in the Namib ? Fantastic shot once again,
Cheers!

Hi Don,
This is just out of this world. Fantastic colours, as if unreal. Excellent framing, with only 1/4 left for the land and the rest all filled with this science-fiction sky! This picture generates a threatening feeling mixed with fascination. Really great job. In stunned admiration, --amz

Hi Don,
This photo is amazing. Its colours are stupendous. The clouds seem moulding into a gigantic and axial skeleton. The scenery looks surreal. Is here the upcoming Armageddon ?
