Photographer’s Note
The most beautiful part of my 2 week trek through the Sahara was crossing sand dunes. We started early to miss the worst of the heat, so the long shadows accentuated the wonderful dune shapes. I had always dreamed of doing this, and was not disappointed.
I had intended to use my Nikon Coolpix 5700, but blowing sand quickly immobilised the lens. However I was fairly pleased with the results from my very basic back-up camera. Film is not quite dead!

Very good use of a beautiful landscape in this image, the perspective is so beautiful and almost unreal.Blue color of the sky and its contrast with the color and shadows of the sand is very good. Congratulations.

Great perspective, Andreas! My own experience is the desert comes from a rockier environment, but I fully understand the sensations and feeling of awe both in you express in your note and this picture. The speck of grass in the right hand corner provides a fine contrast to the barren and everchanging vista around... ;-)
PS I think that updating your profile would be a nice idea. You could specify which camera and lenses you use, for exemple...

Nice photo Andreas, and taken at right time of the day.
Inclusion of people breathes in life in usually pretty 'dead' landscape.
I played a bit with your capture trying to create a bit of a different atmosphere. Hope you don't mind.

Robi

Great capture. Good POV as you can make an interesting composition and play with the long shadows to create more space.
Very well done.
And welcome to TE :)
