Photographer’s Note
This inspiring site was built around the 13th Century at the height of Mutapa Empire that stretched through most of the South African region all the way to Mozambique. The site was abandonned in the 15th century, after growing human and bovine populations had put so much pressure on the environment that ressources were now completely depleted.

The unique point of view gives this photo much of its interest. I also like Caprice's workshop.

I believe the mood of the picture is extra-ordinary ! This desolate place is incredible especially due to the dark colors and the mist in the background. I like it very much !

Good photo and Caprice's workshop version really improves it.
This story about the bovines depleting the environment is eerily familiar from places around the world. I would not be surprised if one day they find out that the Sahara became a desert because of overgrazing too.
