A view across the Zambezi river taken shortly upstream of where the river meets the Kariba Dam – this side of the river is the country of Zimbabwe, on the far side Zambia.
One in a short series of pictures taken on a weekend trip to Kariba, whilst visiting Zimbabwe on business in March 1984. They were all shot on slide film and have since been digitised and processed through Photoshop.

Une belle vue plongeante sur un paysage intéressant avec la rivière d'un bleu intense qui traverses des paysages verdoyants. Une bonne idée de la rssortir de tes archives.
Je te souhaite une bonne journée.

Good Morning Stephen,
A wonderful view across the river from this strong vantage point. I like how you have positioned the river in a diagonal across the frame. A great sense of depth has been achieved.
Have a good day,

A well composed shot using the rule of thirds. Adequate sharpness & I like the diagonal line of the blue river across the frame. A superb high pov. Tfs & have a nice weekend / Merry Xmas!

Great view from this vantage point 27 years ago, I wonder if it still looks like that. Good digital conversion and PP work.

Le point de vue convient à la description de ce paysage grandiose. La numérisation ne semble pas avoir dénaturé la photo originale. Bon cadrage sur la diagonale. Bravo.

amazing view with such wonderful colours and tones. Love the light and shade here giving depth. I wonder if it looks like this some 27 years later!
Have a great weekend - Brian.

Une autre archive de qualité avec cette vue large sur ce célèbre fleuve. J'aime la façon dont le fleuve structure le paysage et apporte un bel équilibre à la composition.

A very fine view here very pleasant blue-green colours. The blue river runs nicely through the vast rainforests. A good scan too!

Another fine catch panorama. Impressive place indeed, a combination between nature and human work.
Have a nice weekend.

The distance between the two shores of the river is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the mountains. A good management of the light which does not hurt the ouput of the colors. Have a nice day.

Hi Stephen, Your photo's of Zimbabwe are super, giving us a view of this fantastic landscape in this country, and considering they were taken in 1984, even more impressive, they bring as I said previously a mixture of memory's. Tfs, Cheers Iain.

So this is the famous Zambesi River eh? I imagined it to be larger and wilder, but I suppose this is only where it meets the dam, so has been controlled by man. Beautiful colours, good POV. I'd like to see a little more sharpness, but then we can't have everything in life and I know you'd do a great job with your new digital.
Have a good Sunday

Beautiful colors and a nice picturesque. Work on sharpness and appropriate zoom so as to maintain the clarity of far-placed objects.

Thumbs up! I am not expert in business in Zimbabwe but I think there is not the best climate today. And I can't speak about 1984, when R. Mugabe had the Soviet reference point. Anyway this is rare photo, good presentation of this far African territory.
Best wishes from Russia!
