On the left, a group of women going to spend their money in the shops.
On the right, a businessman. He has to be fast, he has an important meeting this afternoon.
And you, where are you going ? One the right or on the left ? :)

I'm goin home in the next 10 minutes...i'm tired and i will be more tired after that i will be paly with the children!
:)
good one Pascal, colorful, with a fantastic sunset light, with long shadows and excelelnt quality too.
thanks, ciao

P: I see you took several pictures, bathed in this golden evening light. Fine place to stop and 'wait' for the picture to happen. regards, c

Geeeezz what a beautiful warm mood provided by the low sun rays bathing those very elegant women... This almost monchromic pic is very interesting not only for its terrific orange tone but also for the squarry patern you have here...there are squares and lines everywhere...leading the eye in all the places of the scene.
I also like the legs of the first women of the line versus the men, there are opposite in style and gender but symetric in there legs position! Excellent :)
Though there is something that disturbs me a little bit: The tilt. You definately should rotate the hrizon some degrees to the left side. Or...crop the sidewalk line on the bottom of the pic.
Cheers,
Pris.

Hey Pascal, this is a good shot, as most of your others on this website. I know from experience how difficult it is to capture good portraits or everyday life photos in Africa, and after all people is often the main reason you go there for! Nicely captured and shot this one.

Bonsoir Pascal
bravo pour le titre ;o) j'aime beaucoup les couleurs et la lumière franche de cette photo. Une belle gestion de la partie ombrée qui n'empiète pas sur les visages. Bien vu.

A "theater stage" photo. Quite cartesian and strict coordinates, all aligned and distributed carefully. The light is definitely yours, the warmth all goes well with the tones. Red skirt and red tie, the tie being in silky texture, the movment towards each others, and the framing of the stage with two columns (as curtains of the stage)... A simple yet strong composition. Waited long, splendid result...
Cheers,
Deniz

Nice contrast. The colormatch of red and black on both the first woman and the man means a lot for the impact.

I wouldn't go neither way, I would go your way, your place, stand there and took photos, then go another place searching for something and capture it etc etc etc. I like that the shadow is not covering their heads or some other parts of their bodies, are all men in Africa less tall than women?:)

others have already commented about the fantastic light and colours (as usual in your shots, I'm getting green with envy :)) and how beautifully composed this scene is with brick walls perfectly framing the "meeting" (I'd actually add "decisive moment" as a category, I think it cannot get more decisive than this...). I absolutely love all those elements, but what I like most is that random-looking patch of blue cloth (napkin?) on the ground. it's so out of place that it is actually charming, makes me think of all those rituals with dropped napkins that let the secret messages pass hands :) not sure if I make any sense since I'm almost falling asleep at my desk right now, so no "to the right" or "to the left" for me, just straight home to get some sleep :)
excellent shot, Pascal, but then again I do not expect anything less from you.
best,
Kristine

Perfect frame. It looks like photojounalism. You have nice eye to watch surrounding.I also agree with Gordana what he write about shadows...Regards, Nadeem Khawar.

Salut Pascal,
