Photographer's Note

This photo, catch from helicopter on Zimbabwe side, show, in spite of a poor quality of image, the general configuration of the Victoria falls presented here, yesterday. The catch of sight was carried out through the striped panes, made of plexiglass, of this helicopter! Lighting causes optical difractions and aberations. A scan of doubtful quality comes to supplement the whole. I however decided to post this photo, more because of his teaching character that of his aesthetic nature. First of all, for information, the photo of yesterday was shot in Zambia, on the top/right corner.
There are 3 great falls in the world: Victoria, Iguassu, the Niagara.
These falls have one common point between them: they mark the border between two states, Zambia and Zimbabwe for the Victoria falls, Brazil and Argentina for the Iguassu falls, the USA and Canada for the Niagara falls.
The comparison stop here!
The Victoria falls have something of caracteristic, it is the notch which literally cut the river and the notches network downstream. You can notice on the photo the departure of the canyon, which marks the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. For information these 2 countries formed in the past, only one country: Rhodesia. In a past much more remote, the Zambezi river ran out by joining Okavango. The unexplained collapse of the canyon network deviated the Zambezi towards are current bed.
