We saw the hyena as it ran across the field at a sprint and our guide remarked that this was not a normal run. We turned around and found that this hyena had chased a leopard off from its kill, an impala. Later the adult leopard would return to try to reclaim its prize but there would not be much left. As you can see from the photo, the hyena's belly is already drooping with the weight of the antelope. On the photo side of things, it was difficult to get a photo in the thicket as you can see from the distracting branch in the left corner but for the most part, the hyena was not bothered by our presence.

I think you have done extremely well to get this picture ,which is ,after all natural,in the animal world.
I like the tight cropping and the rays of light across the ground.

I agree with Ali - it's sad but beautiful. The right moment and place, nice light on the background, facial expression of the hyena. The category "Daily life" would be also suitable.
