Photographer’s Note
Here are two more girls from the Twatasha Basic School. I visited their school while visiting my cousin who was working in Zambia and was friends with their teacher.
I'm a teacher too and as a teacher, I feel like I get to have a direct impact on the future. These two girls are not my students and go to school a world away from where I teach, but I think this picture gives the viewer the feeling of being their teacher. Kids come to school with a lot of hope and uncertainty. It is the teacher's role to give them something to help shape their future.

Hi Kate!
Good question!
This is a great B&W multiportrait with good contrast.I like the different expressions at the kid`s faces.

I like a lot the photos of your travel there and I hope that you have more of them ! Again an important photo and I guess that it was very difficult to ask them not to look at you (as the way they are looking is slightly inexpressive - but of course they are shy and good student).
Nice photo, B&W appropriate,
Compliments,
Cath.
(NB : Just thinking : maybe were you also on a tight schedule, probably not on your own but I imagine that if you had had more time and waited a bit longer, they would have been bent on their books, started to write again or listen with attention to their teacher : the photo would have been even more "talking").

Hi Kate!
I like your title, picture and note very much. B&W set the perfect mood for this particular photo.
A teacher is like a ferry, year after year of taking the student across the trouble water safely from one shore to the other.
Well done & TFS. Warmest regards from Thailand. AJ.

Felicitaciones
