Photographer’s Note
I was fortunate to be able to go in to the theatre in a local hospital in Kampala as part of a medical course I was teaching on.
I was able to watch local surgeons doing cleft lip and palate operations.It was wonderful to be able to watch the extreme skill needed to do this operation, when it is done as well as these people can do it afterwards you can hardly see there had been a problem. It makes such a huge difference to the children and their future lives and the lives of their parents. An hour and a half work makes a lifetimes difference.
