Hi Tony.
This photo is a bit difficult to judge. I like that we get to see the spirit in his eyes. The life spirit seems so great. I have to say I think you should go for a shorter shutter speed as he doesn't look very sharp. It could also be because of the camera. I don't know...
A thing I like about the shutter speed is that his hand is not sharp. It immediately gives life to the image and motion. But in this case it's not very much. So, is it worth the long shutter speed? In this case, I think not.
The colours seem to me a bit bad, but not too bad. An idea could be to convert it to B&W. I actually think that would improve the image.
The sea shore is to me a bit disturbing as it's going straight through his head. It could work as a leading line, but I'd prefer not to include it. However, you've done a nice job. It's these kind of images who makes us think. You've captured the perfect moment to make us think as it shows so much life spirit in my opinion.
And one more thing: I'd like if you had a longer note. I bet the story behind is worth telling.
Have a nice Sunday,
Fredrik
