too much christmas cheer?

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Taken a day or two after Christmas, I was sitting in a (very) local bar - no more than a mud hut with a table, four stools and a shelf of beer, when this fellow came in on his way home from work.
After the obilgatory greetings in luanadan ('Agandi?' - 'Nigee') we chatted in english for a few minutes. He then asked me to take his photo so I stuck him in the window. The sunset was coming so the light was especially good and I thought the tones worked well. You can see he had been celebrating a little bit to much - but it was Christmas.
I hope I caught a little of his character - cheeky and essentially harmless. |

That's a beautiful photo (and the story) you share with us. I like it a lot with the dark background. The framing is really great.
I like your portrait (framing, colors, light, composition. Good job. PS. Your visited so many beautiful countries, WOW :)Regards.

Tom: Nice to see you posting again. This is a great portait and the window makes a great natural frame. I love his expression (he's looking at you so intently) and I love how all the dark tones (the window frame, the background, his skin, and the hat) complement each other. Very nice.
As a side note, I just found out that it looks like I'll be going back to Uganda for a week or so this Spring to talk to people there about going back for a longer stint to help their law school develop its programs. I am very excited!!
Lovely, dark and quiet. Good light, colour, expression. What eyes!
