Almost human, a photo from Kisoro, Southern

Photographer's Note

"almost human" is the definition of gorillas I first gave after tracking them in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest NP in southern Uganda.

they almost acted as human...as this one was doing!
it reminded me of a human laying on a couch looking (bored) at TV :D

So you are back from Uganda? Superb photo, indeed it seems he is watching something rather boring. Amusing shot. You were quite close to him.

Buonasera Silvio,

"quasi umani", dovrebbero ricordarselo coloro che non si fanno scrupoli nello sterminarli -direttamente o indirettamente- o coloro che ne distruggono l'habitat.Ma d'altronde questa "regola" non vale nemmeno tra "umani senza quasi".Comunque questa è una specie veramente rara (stima di 800-900 individui rimasti).Mi piace il formato che hai dato e la composizione, insieme focalizzano l'attenzione sull'espressione annoiata del gorilla.

Ti auguro un buon 2013, anche se un pò in ritardo.

This is a superb portrait and a very well cropped photo with perfect sharpness. That face is fascinating to watch and no doubt there are some kinds of thought spinning round in his brain. It must be the experience of a lifetime to have such an encounter.

Ciao Silvio,dopo aver passato 2 settimane a sistemare le foto di alcuni miei amici che quest'estate avevano fatto questo costosissimo viaggio,provo una certa nausea nel rivedere questi maledetti gorilla di montagna..eeheehe...in compenso finalmente vedo una foto ben fatta...complimenti e buona giornata,Luciano

Really nice portrait of this elegant fellow. I like the way he is looking at you, almost as if he thinks that YOU that are the amusing one. If he had a camera, he would surely have taken a shot of you. :-) I like the greenery surrounding him, too.
