Photographer’s Note
It's been a while, but I finally have a few new shots. I just got back from a couple of weeks in Uganda, mostly for business, but we had some fun too.
On our last weekend, we visited Ngamba Island, a sanctuary for orphaned chimps. The island houses two separate groups of chimps -- one of juveniles and one of adults. Because they are highly territorial, the two groups have to be kept apart. During the day, the adults have free reign of the forest and the juveniles live in a large enclosure and are taken out to play in the forest once a day. At night, though, all of the chimps are brought in to be fed and sleep in pens. The ceilings of the pens are lined with hammocks where the chimps make nests to sleep. Here, one of the caretakers is feeding the juveniles some millet porridge.

very interesting picture and note. The helper just hand the chimps the aluminum bowl and thedy feed themslves, very unusual. It is quite a sight to see how they live in captivity.

Mimi! Great to see ya back. I hope you had a fun trip to Uganda :)
This is a nice pic. I think the left side is a bit empty though. It would have been nice to get this one step to the left so we can see more of a separation between man and chimp and get more of his face.
Cheers!
