Photographer’s Note

This was taken on Chrsitmas Day dawn. I was up early near the place I was staying and decided to try and catch a little dawn light.

What amazed me later was how much detail the camera caught in the very low light. I find the scene, with its scrap yard, purple sky and firey sun a little mixture of natural beauty and manmade ugliness - this photo has grwon on me. Hence I offer it humbly!

I used a wide-angle lens attachment for this shot, at the widest end.

Tom, the mix of man-made ugliness and natuarl beauty is interesting. I've had to look at this for a minute....The scrapyard seems appropriate, parts of Kampala are far far from 'pretty' so your choice of picture is apt. The beautiful sky has managed to illuminate an 'ugly' scene and give it's own beauty. It's growing on me too!
