Photographer's Note

This photo was taken at the end of a hard days work! We had been painting a local school built by a UK charity called Soft Power. Throughout the day village children arrived, all keen for a go with the masses of paint. This boy was particularly enthusiastic about swishing about the whitewash but I think as much ended up on him as on the walls. Hence the splattered paint all over him.

Not a lot has been done apart from a little cropping and increasing saturation. I thought about removing the shine from his hand (he is waving, I couldn't convince him not to)but I remembered that it was from paint cleaner. As it was part of the moment I left it in.

a great shot karina! excellent pov, good dof and nice colors. it looks like the speckles were on the camera lense. i like the paint cans included in the frame. welcome to te!

What a funny shot, Karina. At first it looks like the paint is on the picture, not on his face. The paint buckets add a nice bit of context.

Beautiful colors and a strange photo! I like it, there is something in the colors looking like a modern painting, and the expression of the boy is sweet!

united colours of benetton? haha congrats karina for the truly dramatic shot. the white-skin palm of a black boy...white spots on the face of racism...wata pix. makes me overflow with ideas...tru art!

Great shot - the paint on the face looks almost unreal, especially when you look at the reflection in the eyes that also form similar white spots.
