[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
After a 4 hour ride from the city Douz we finally arrived at the dunes of Grand Erg Oriental. This is a huge area of sand dunes which is over thousand kilometers long and leads into Algeria. It's one of the most impressive places I've ever been in my entire life.
I took the photo at sunset. There was absolutely no sound. I could hear a ping in my ears because it was so silent.
The white dots in the background are the two small houses where we had our camp (1 hour to walk).
A few moments after I had taken this photo the moon rised on the horizon. It looked huge and had an orange color because of the sun light. It really looked like a second sun.
It was a feeling like beeing on another planet where absolutely no living exists.
Afterwards I nearly lost myself on the way back to the camp, because the darkness came very quickly.
