This is a Berber woman from the southern region of Tunisia. She lives in houses dug into the ground. A central courtyard is dug about 6m deep and then the rooms are tunnelled out from the sides.Inside the rooms have domed roofs and are very cool and insulated from the heat of the desert. This lady has the traditional tattoo on her chin for married women.
This region became popular when they chose to film Star Wars here.
Scanned from print. I have converted a version to black and white in the workshop because I was unsure of which one looked better.

An nice character study, Wanda. Good posing of the lady with an interesting wrinkled face that seems to tell a lot of stories from her life. Also a good way to present her traditional colorful clothes, and I have learned something new as I was not aware of the "marriage tattoo" before. Good scanning quality. Have a nice weekend.

What a character you show us today! She looks great, even posing she appears natural and undisturbed, nice vivid colors, superb textures of the different fabrics and nice sharpness of details... good work!

also the b&w is of interest for me, but this one shows the colourful clothes she is wearing. She is a bit sitting and looking as she is not from here and I am fascinated by the way she is holding her hands and of her hands too. TFS

Beautiful portrait of the Berber woman with many details to see. She is standing out well against the BG and the colors are well rendered. The tight framing is also well seen. I think I like both versions and I could not tell you, which one I do prefer :)

greatly captured impressive portrait shot of this berber woman. The light is very well managed, the sharpness is very good and the details are well visible. Congratulations for the excellent scanning and I prefer with no doubt the coloured version. Great work!
Tfs and best wishes!
