Photographer’s Note
Nowadays,it's possible to find lots of handicraft shops in the Medina (city inside the walls) of Hammamet. It's a natural result of the incresing number of tourists visiting the country looking for the nice beaches, the sun and a different culture. However, if you through the little narrows streets, you'll still find a couple of them without or almost without craft shops and almost without tourists. That's where you can really watch the daily life of the nationals, like these two ladies.Details like cats at the door, the clothes drying outside, the children playing, or even the smell of the homemade food are quite usually here.

Maravilhosa fotografia, Anabela. Esse é um tipo de fotografia que não se vê normalmente em jornais ou revistas. Ela retrata exatamente como é o dia-a-dia de outros povos e culturas.
Obrigado por compartilhar!

Lovely daily life capture Ana. I like how the two ladies are framed between the buildings. The crispness of the image is also very striking. Well done my friend! TFS, Sam

Hi Ana!
I was in Tunisia two years ago and can certify the true presentation of medinas architecture - it is almost one in the same in Tunis, in Souse, in Hamamet... Narrow strettlings with lot of wires on the whitened ancient mud walls, trowing exhaust water rirght on your feet... I like it, because it is centuries proven. ASnd your photo is a brilliant picture of the place.

Hi Ana! I've never been to Tunisia (yet!) but having been in several countries in the Middle East, this is so immediately recognizable to me: your photograph gives a real feel of what it's like to walk around in those narrow alleys, sheltered from the harsh sunshine. The lighting is perfect, with the soft diffuse light reflected from the white walls illuminating the women contrasting with the completely blown sky telling how hot it's going to be once you leave the sheltered streets.
In fact, I had a group theme in mind and was waiting to come across a picture to start it off with; now this is the perfect first example for the new "White skies" theme (http://www.trekearth.com/themes.php?thid=7602 - sorry, it seems I can't link here). Off to search for more...
