Photographer's Note

This is a perspective of a Berber village, situated not far from Sousse, in Tunisia.
The Berbers are in North Africa since around 4000 BC, much time before the Arabs arrive here. Most part of them are nomads and they have adopted the Islamism as their own faith but they keep their own identity and language. If you don't mind travelling by car, you can find several villages inhabited by them in Tunisia. Here is one: Takrouna, that is an incredible place: a part of the village is situated on the top of a hill and besides the architecture that is still quite traditional, and the contact with the people, the landscape is magnificent.
