Photographer’s Note
Kairouan is one of the Holy Cities of Islam, and this shot was taken just outside the walls of the old city.
Walking down the street, I was struck by the different colours of the balconies and sky, so snapped this off. No filters except a standard UV were used, and the image has not been processed in any way.

Hi Alastair, welcome to TE! The colours in Kairouan are indeed stunning. Can I make a few suggestions?
1) When you have strongly lit whites, the camera gets fooled and doesn't read the light properly, trying to render the white as grey. So you either compensate for that when you shoot, or do some post processing afterwards. (I posted a workshop.)
2) I think it would have been great to see more of the beautiful house in the foreground. Maybe from a more fontal POV?
3) Since we have a size limit of 800px, we might as well use it, otherwise it's a bit difficult for people to appreciate our photos.
Keep posting!
Mario
