Photographer’s Note
Building up in the mountain, with the mountains as part of the houses made them cooler and at the same time the mountains also protected the inhabitants from attackers who could easily be seen from such a vantage point.
There are a few locals who still use the village, but I think it is just to press a few olives and catch a few hikers and "guide" them to the olive press.
It was an amazing place to imagine - this was an entire town. Now there is no one there. The few traces of previous residence got my imagination stirring to what life must have been like less than 100 years ago here.
