Fort Borj El Kebir

Located in northern Houmt-Souk, also called Borj Ghazi Mostpha is an old Arab fort of the XVth century, built during the reign of the Amir al-Abi Fares Hafsi (from Hafsids dynasty) which was strengthened by the corsair Dragut and enlarged by the Spaniards in the sixteenth century. The interior of the excavations have revealed the first fort dating from the thirteenth century. In one of the rooms, an exhibition of discoveries made during excavations of the history of the fort. A panoramic view of the ramparts to see the port and the obelisk of 9 meters high, which recalls the location of Borj-er-Rous (the tower of skulls erected by the corsair Dragut).

Yves, before i critique too harshly let me say this is a really fine photo and that with one little change I think it is hang-on-the-wall worthy in every sense. I was not there so I cannot know what is possible but the horizon line being exactly aligned with the base of the domes doesn't work for me but I love the water color and the off center composition and the wonderful detail you have in the stone work.

J'aime beaucoup l'utilisation que tu as faite des remparts.
C'est un point de vue original, et le cadrage est excellent. Caler le fort dans ce coin de l'image était idéal pour laisser une belle part à la Méditerranée et rendre la sensation d'immensité que l'on ressent devant le spectacle.
La forte lumière est bien gérée pour un rendu très éclatant.
Je trouve juste la netteté un chouïa trop poussée sur l'avant plan de sable et d'algues (?), mais parfait sur la pierre de l'enceinte. Peut être un travail par sélection aurait atténué cela.
Bravo pour cette photo lumineuse, et dépaysante.

Salut l'Ami Yves,

Je comprends que tu aies été séduit par la Tunisie!
La vue sur la Méditerranée est surprenante: est-ce l'eau turquoise, la formidable lumière... difficile de dire ce qui attire. Dans le cadrage par contre, ce qui me plaît beaucoup est le décalage du fort vers le coin: c'est une manière subtile d'attirer l'attention sur lui. Bravo pour la texture et le rendu des couleurs de la pierre: sûrement pas facile d'échapper à la surex dans ces lumières-là! Joli boulot.

Hello Yves,

Perhaps have the previous writer this good seen about the horizon.
But I find these photograph absolutely not bad.
Composition and real colours give a very nice image of this sea area.

Ton cadrage offre une place de choix au fort tout en laissant à l'océan un espace qui le met bien en valeur

Very nice composition with lovely colors. I like the contrast between blue sky and green water. The horizon is a little bit tilt but the photo is beautiful.

Très beau cadrage.
La couleur de la mer est magnifique !
Mais, pardon d'avance pour mon inculture, on a l'impression que c'est marée basse et que la mer s'est retiré loin loin loin. Je ne pensais pas qu'il pouvait y avoir de telles marées en Méditerranée (ou alors le sol est vraiment plat).
