Photographer’s Note
Another shot from Sbeïtla. This is from one of the walls surrounding the forum in front of the Minerva temple in my last Sbeïtla shot.
I must admit that this could have been more carefully composed, but I still like the depth of the picture and the roman architecture is nice. The landscape around here was beautiful and very arid, they hadn't had real rainfall for four years I was told.
I should have made sure that the column in front also was in focus. It is also a bit overexposed I think - it is interesting to think that this is taken at about the same time of day as the previous picture.
Workshops which give this a softer light and more color are welcome. Beacuse of all the textures jpeg-compression also lowered the quality. Cropping suggestions are also welcome, I couldn't find a better crop so I left it in the original format.

I rather like this composition and I think the front pile being out of focus just adds more depth to the image. But the light is really too harsh...
I've tryed a WS to correct a slight tilt and adjust contrast & brightness.
PS: I must tell you it's rather a beginner's work!

The architecture definitely is interesting, Simon. I also like your composition with the pillar in front, and the window opening up nearby.
I tried another WS which came out a little different than Viviane's. The cropping I did was just to decrease file size below 200 KB again; I liked your original cropping as well.

Very nice picture Simon. Sites of old history are always interesting and often beautiful. I like the three levels in this picture, the pillar, the wall and the landscape. Take away either of these three and you would have a lesser photo. I might be tempted to crop more wall away from the left though.

I like the combination of the colours between the wall and window scene. The rustical rocks under the wall, they are making a good balance of composition. The green grass revives the picture.

All the old ancient wonderful huge walls, forts, buildings, in the world, how did they do it? Where did all these artists go in out time? Now a days everything is sterile, quick.....
