Baptismal Font Photo

Photographer’s Note

This is a baptismal font of one of the basilicas of Sufetula. It is located behind the temples in my overview picture. I was fascinated both by how well preserved it was and by the soft shapes.

Nice shot with good foreground detail but I feel that shallower DoF would give it more "distance" from the background and greater impact.

Very interesting font. The undulating shapes are great. I wonder if this is the work of Roman concrete. The mosaics look great, also. And so well preserved for being in the open. Nice job capturing this interesting subject, even with all the harsh lighting.

Fantastic mosaic work, and like you say, lovely soft shapes. What do the stairs lead down to?

Très bon cadrage centré pour présenter ce type d'image et j'apprécie les détails de la photo notamment sur la mosaïque.
Les escaliers sont t'il présent aussi du cote opposé?

Great shot with good framing. It's very nice to see the details of the mosaic at the forefront.

I was in Tunesia a few years back but I lost almost a complete film roll because something went wrong during processing at a photoshop. Anyway, great to see some photos from Tunesia again!
